Janetta Stew "ART"

Janetta D. Stewart Benefield was born July 20, 1965 in Toul Rosieres Air Base, France to retired Army SFC Joe and Joyce Stewart. Janetta grew up in El Paso, Texas and was the 7th of 8 siblings where artistic expression was developed and encouraged. At an early age Janetta’s mother recognized her ability to style hair, and by middle school she was intricately designing french braided hairstyles for friends, and family members. An entrepreneurial spirit was born, and In 1997 she graduated from Tri state Beauty Institute in El Paso, Texas in pursuit of her passion in the beauty industry.

During the 2003 war on Terror in Iraq, Janetta used her wig making skills for her African American clients serving, and fighting in that harsh inhabitable environment to protect their natural hair, fondly coined “Wigs for War.” Commissioned by a non profit organization in 2008, Janetta produced a calendar using Garry’s creations as a fundraiser, and in 2016 she selected nine of Garry’s 3-Dimensional paintings and produced first edition prints for resale.  Janetta is married to Retired Army Ranger, Master Sergeant Arthur Benefield of twenty-seven years. They have a beautiful blended family of 4 daughters and 1 son, 6 grand-children and 1 great-granddaughter. Janetta gives all the praise to God for choosing her to spread the message of love and peace through the artwork of her late brother Garry B. Stewart, founder and creator of New Artistic Creations.
